CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 but restrictions were lifted on 19th July 2021 with venues free to run shows to full capacity audiences after that though there are still issues with company members being forced to self-isolate on being 'pinged'. In September it is possible that a COVID vaccination certificate (or exemption) may be mandated for entry. From Phylia to Fosca by way of Amy, Sally, Desiree, Dot and many other complex, vivid and intriguing characters - Stephen Sondheim's women defy any attempt to pigeonhole. Idiosyncratic certainly, yet these are real women with whom women themselves empathise. Sondheim's women tell us much about what it is to be a woman, through their own words and those of the men that surround them. The Bridewell's Artistic Director, Clive Paget, has devised this concert survey of a fascinating, entertaining and emotionally rich aspect of the work of the supreme master of musical theatre.
