Following Brighton Festival 09's Willkommen Showcases, the Brighton-based collective turnedrecord- label hosts a one-off special featuring two of its finest exports. The Leisure Society is the brainchild of Nick Hemming - erstwhile guitarist of The Telescopes and She Talks to Angels (alongside Shane Meadows and Paddy Considine) - and fellow multi-instrumentalist Christian Hardy. Championed by everyone from Radcliffe & Maconie to Elbow's Guy Garvey, their debut album The Sleeper was a word-of-mouth cult phenomenon, spawning the Ivor Novello-nominated The Last of the Melting Snow. Sons of Noel and Adrian have evolved from a troupe of like-minded musical allies to a fully fledged post-folk orchestra. Following a string of monumental live shows, including the Barbican with Efterklang and Jagajazzist, they recently embarked on a sell-out tour with fellow nu-folkers Mumford and Sons.
