Counterpoint is a revival of the 2010 work commissioned and choreographed for the Somerset House courtyard fountains with a cast of twenty-two dancers. Framed by the neo-classical surroundings of the courtyard Jeyasingh's fluid choreography, set to a pulsating score by Cassiel, it takes the audience on a dramatic ten minute journey of changing speeds, contrasting textures and shifting dynamics. Counterpoint features a core of professional dancers working with recent graduates towards a mutually beneficial exchange of experiences and perspectives.
