We intended to question relationships between man and machines, to evoke the nostalgia of old technologies and human evolution. The music, played on stage from a computer, is based on an extract of an Icelandic hymn programmed on IBM 1401, the first computer to arrive in Iceland in 1964’. - Erna Ómarsdóttir A collaboration between two internationally acclaimed Icelandic aritists: musician Johann Johannsson and one of the most captivating performers to be seen on the European stage today, Erna Ómarsdóttir. The music is performed live on laptop and Hammond B3 electric organ with electronic treatments. The Hammond and its distinctive Lesley speaker is used not only to perform the music, but as an integral part of the decor, the rotary speakers providing a hypnotic counterpoint to the dancer’s movements.
