Bush Theatre's Tobi Kyeremateng and Ruthie Osterman present BABYLON - a two week festival celebrating the contemporary global influences and experiences of Black and Brown people, from their local influences on British culture, through to an international dialogue around contemporary exile across the globe. Week one sees the Bush Theatre host a series of music gigs, queer cabaret, live podcast shows and workshops. Headliners include modern media pioneers gal-dem, leading a talk on London activism and The Cocoa Butter Club, who will be presenting a dazzling night of queer cabaret. Week two sees the world premiere of BABYLON: Beyond Borders, an international collaboration between four theatres and their communities. Artists at the Bush Theatre, Harlem Stage (New York), Pequeno Ato (S?o Paulo) and Market Theatre (Johannesburg) will all explore their relationship to Babylon, in relation to land, exile, migration and language. The project will be simultaneously livestreamed across the four cities.
