CORONAVIRUS: currently, all theatres and related venues are closed. Shows are either being cancelled, postponed or rescheduled and we are trying to keep up with all the changes. There are currently few changes after May 2020 and many shows that were due for April have been pushed back towards the end of Autumn. Pantomimes are looking like a safe bet at the moment ;-)

There once was an ugly duckling ... Rejected by all and sundry until he wakes one day as a beautiful swan. Frost. Ice. Quiet. The farm is sleeping, snuggled up for warmth. Suddenly the peace is shattered by the arrival of? a duckling. Scruffy, clumsy and NOTHING like his fluffy yellow siblings, our unlikely, gangly and slightly wobbly hero sets off on an epic adventure to find the place where he truly belongs. Hans Christian Andersen's much-loved story comes springing to life at the hands of Sally Cookson, Benji Bower and Katie Sykes, with Travelling Light's trademark joyful and moving storytelling, enchanting live music and fantastical invention. 10 years since its opening here at Tobacco Factory Theatres, and following 5 star reviews and an acclaimed national tour, The Ugly Duckling promises to leave young and old and everyone in between enraptured, uplifted and asking for more.

Performers Emily May Smith, Heidi Niemi, Heather Williams, Brian Hargreaves.
