CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 and there is currently no planned re-opening time though it will not be before 1st June 2020 and is most likely to be September (according to some West End producers).
Some shows have been cancelled, or closed early, but many are being rescheduled and we are trying to keep up with the changes - assume that anything posted for April to August is actually postponed or cancelled. It now looks likely that little will return till 2021.
We all know King Ubu. That deranged dictator we all love to hate. Impossibly greedy, unstoppably crude, inexorably daft and hell-bent on making the country great again! Sound familiar? Based on Alfred Jarry's riot-inducing masterpiece, Kneehigh will let rip with their own version of theatre's most anarchic creations - KING UBU. Expect world-class buffoonery in this deliriously unhinged improvised promenade musical (surely the first of its kind!). Featuring some of the most iconic anthems of our times, given a fresh rub for their money by a belting Kneehigh band, plus an extraordinary choir of extras - you! - we guarantee this will be a rocking, rollicking riot of ridiculousness that you won't forget. Performers Katy Owen (Mr Ubu), Mike Shepherd (Mrs Ubu - His Wife), Kyla Goodey (Bobbi - His Daughter), Niall Ashdown (Jeremy Wardle - The Host), Dom Coyote (President Nick Dallas), Robbi Luckay (Captain Shittabrique), Nandhi Bhebe (The Brave Dissenter), Alex Lupo (House Band - Sweaty Bureaucrats), Dom Coyoto (House Band - Sweaty Bureaucrats), Justin Lee Radford (House Band - Sweaty Bureaucrats), Renell Shaw (House Band - Sweaty Bureaucrats), Nandi Bhebe (House Band - Sweaty Bureaucrats).
