Mahagonny Songspiel is a modern fable of the pitfals of capitalism, as relevant today as when it was written. Happy End revolves around the struggle for souls between the Salvation Army and a group of second rate Chicago gangsters, and is often cited as the inspiration for 'Guys and Dolls'.
