Details

The ancient story. Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, first performed in 1689, is inspired by Virgil's account of the myth which follows the burgeoning love of Aeneas, a Trojan prince, and the Queen of Carthage. Semi staged. Performed by the Musicians of the Globe and the sopranos of Worcester College Choir Oxford.
