Details
1848, Europe's year of revolution and the London workers threaten to take by force what their corrupt parliament will not give: the six demands of The People's Charter. The middle classes rush to arms as Special Constabulary. The police and army deploy to defend the Banks, bridges and Government buildings. In the coffee houses and pubs small groups of the poor plan their insurrection. A black tailor, a young Irish artist, an office cleaner, and a small-time junk dealer are the focus of this story of idealism, loyalty and betrayal in 'the last revolution'.
