An intimate story of backstage relationships revealing an operatic dimension, both in its music and themes of love, jealousy, fear and betrayal, Dress Rehearsal, the play, follows a group of disparate performers in real time and space over one evening in the upstairs of a Northern pub. Alternating between onstage and backstage, the evening brings with it the suggestion of failed ambition, unhealthy dependencies and stifling possessiveness.
