Emerging Writers' Week - Come On In My Kitchen/The Lost Case/Brasshouse/Diva Darling/London Whales archiveNow in its third year, Emerging Writers' Week provides a fascinating and exciting platform for new work that has been nurtured within the Chickenshed Writers' Group. Reflecting the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the creators, the week will showcase an array of work from both new writers and those with more experience who are developing new pieces. We promise an eclectic and informal evening of short, simply staged plays that will be entertaining, thought-provoking, moving and fun, and which offers something for everyone. Come On In My Kitchen - A Jewish daughter tries to discover more about her family. A story of memories and love. Brasshouse - A thought provoking and challenging piece, exploring relationship between the maid of the house and a new Eastern European prostitute. Diva Darling - An elderly female actress tells her story through the films she has appeared in. She recalls her loves and her greatest regret. London Whales - Charts a man's breakdown as he becomes obsessed with helping a whale that is stuck in the Thames!
