Forgotten Woman archiveA remarkable life and times of Jamaican nurse Mary Seacole is vividly brought to life by actress Cleo Sylvestre who wrote the script after being inspired by her diaries. 'Aunty' Seacole was an intrepid traveller and dedicated nurse. Unlike her counterpart, Florence Nightingale, Mary was very hands on and used herbal remedies learnt from her mother to relieve the suffering of British soldiers during the Crimean War. A one woman show lasting under an hour with original music, performed by Cleo Sylvestre suitable for audiences of all ages.
