1 Festival - 10 Days - 13 World Premieres 3-12 July 2008 - The Junction, Cambridge The most vibrant and innovative new writing theatre festival in the UK will be turning the Junction into a hive of activity with exciting new short pieces from established writers alongside work from first-time playwrights, workshops, readings and the incredible One-Page-Play-Comp-Athon; forty one page plays produced throughout the festival, with the audience selecting a winner to go through to the final night play-off (a bit like X Factor, only classier). This is a great way to see innovative new theatre in a festival environment right on your doorstep! Hotbed's headline production this year is a new translation of Feydeau's hilarious one act farce En Purge Bebe (Going Potty) by Ranjit Bolt and other highlights include guest productions from Shams, Nabokov and Real Circumstance and a new production from Trestle - The Life of Lola Montez - the story of the infamous 19th century fake spanish dancer, actress and femme fatale, told through a fiery blend of flamenco dance and rhythm, theatre and and live music.
