Mystery Plays archiveOriginally performed in churches during the Middle Ages, Mystery Plays became increasingly bawdy and were eventually ousted into the marketplace in an effort to distance them from the church. Enhancing the traditional comical nature of the Mystery Plays, will be one of South Yorkshire’s rising stars, comedian, actor and radio presenter Toby Foster. With credits including Sheffield’s Last Laugh Comedy Club and Phoenix Nights under his belt, Toby is well suited to the impish nature and naughty antics of the play’s narrator.
