CORONAVIRUS:All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 and look like staying closed until March 2021 with the exception of a few, patchy, openings (and subsequent closures) towards the end of 2020. Some open-air, drive-in venues have been opened for periods and many shows are now streaming on-line. Sadly, some venues and shows may not survive. The uproarious Pickwick Club is a satirical masterpiece that established Dickens literary fame. The irascible club members are borne through early-Victorian England on a tidal wave of humour and gullibility - encountering corrupt politicians, duels, proposals of marriage and incarceration in debtor s prison. Cleverly adapted from Dickens comic novel this is a highly physical and inventive piece of theatre. Six versatile performers present the adventures of the corresponding members of The Pickwick Club. Packed full of glorious comic set-pieces, the show features a host of well-loved characters on a haphazard cross-country journey.
