An unlikely father and son reunion in a battered caravan by a fairground scrapyard on the banks of the Mersey. Each has dreams of another life, another place but are forced to confront the past and acknowledge what holds them together and what has driven them apart. All they have in common is the big wide ocean, the song 'Lightning Rod Man' and a little boy in the river.
