CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 but restrictions were lifted on 19th July 2021 with venues free to run shows to full capacity audiences after that though there are still issues with company members being forced to self-isolate on being 'pinged'. In September it is possible that a COVID vaccination certificate (or exemption) may be mandated for entry. Please note that iUKTDb archive listings between March 2020 and July 2021 may not be accurate as we did not receive details of all rescheduled and cancelled shows.

Shadowlands archiveSet in Oxford, in the 1950s, Shadowlands is a witty, erudite and moving play about the unlikely but true romance between reserved British academic, author and theologian C.S Lewis and outspoken, divorced American poet Joy Gresham. When they met, Lewis - an Oxford don in his fifties living quietly and contentedly with his brother, Warnie - could not have anticipated how their lives would become entwined. Their marriage of convenience, undertaken to avoid Gresham's deportation, soon grew into a much more profound and significant connection.
Performers Charles Dance (CS Lewis), Janie Dee (Joy Gresham), John Standing (Professor Christopher Riley), Richard Durden (Major W.H. Lewis), Graham Padden (Reverend 'Harry' Harrington), Alan Gregg (Drew Mulligan), Osmund Bullock (Dr Maurice), Christian Lees (Douglas, Jonah Lees (Douglas), Adam Megginson (Douglas), Naomi Paxton (Nurse/Witness), Sioned Jones (Registrar).
Author William Nicholson. Producer Brian Eastman. Producer Andrew Welch. Producer Richmond Theatre Productions. Director Michael Barker-Cavern. Design Matthew Wright. Lighting Peter Mumford.
