Somewhere in England archiveIn the summer of 1941, at the height of the London Blitz, it was decided that Britain's indispensable morale booster in the fight against Hitler should be removed to a place of safety. So the stars of the nation's favourite radio comedy, It's That Man Again, soon found themselves in a draughty Penrhyn Hall in Bangor, pretending they were still Somewhere in England. As sophisticated London showbiz stars rub shoulders with the grudging, grasping and gleeful locals, love blossoms in the most unlikely places. Punctuated with songs of the period including In the Mood, Sunny Side of the Street and Love is the Sweetest Thing, Mike James brand new take on this true story is an affectionate tribute to the heyday of radio comedy, the defiant spirit of the home front and the ability of love to bring us all together.
