T S Eliot: Master of Disguises archiveEliot was one of the most daring innovators of twentieth-century poetry. Never compromising either with the public or indeed with language itself, he followed his belief that poetry should aim at a representation of the complexities of modern civilization in language. Awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1948 "for his outstanding, pioneering contribution to present-day poetry", his influence has been immense. A new production featuring leading poetry and prose performer Ruth Rosen, as she reads from T S Eliot's masterpieces, The Waste Land and The Four Quartets, as well as some of his other great poems.
