That Takes Ovaries! - International Women's Day 2009 archiveA celebration of women's courage, perseverance and down-right outrageousness! The play is composed of true-life stories from women around the world, including the tales of a disabled woman who launches a 'pee protest' to secure accessible toilets at her college, an Asian woman who risks her life to make a documentary exposing sex-trafficking in India, and a female entrepreneur opening the first ever sex shop for women in the USA. Afterwards, there will be an open-mic session and the audience will be invited to share their stories of women doing audacious, oestrogen-fuelled things! An exciting, unique theatre experience for women and men alike. Part of International Women's Day Merseyside's project to promote women's activism in Liverpool. Performed by feminist activists and students raising funds for the Speke and Garston Domestic Violence Project. Supported by: The University of Liverpool Women’s Group, WHISC, RASA, TUC Merseyside, Unite
