Bertie Bickle likes cakes. Bertie Bickle likes gambling on horses, staying up late and getting Rua the hairdresser to dress up in a ceili costume after work. But Bertie doesn't like Willy, the local county councillor, especially when he closes down Rua's hairdressing salon for no particular reason. And when Willy closes his favourite cake shop as well, Bertie decides to take the law into his own hands... The Ballad of Badger Bickle's Youngfella is a 90-minute theatre piece blending physical comedy, dance, clowning and story-telling. It is minimalist in presentation and style and is performed by four actors who narrate the story while performing over hundred characters between them.
