All the great British public must do to win this coveted prize is submit a video diary, stating their case for the space. Welcome to the strange and wonderful world of Sarah Solemani and Olivia Poulet, the fringe s newest double act. They present a hilarious birds-eye view of the British public s reaction to the approaching pandemic, and show us a cross-section of those infamous 'bird-flu diaries . Will the winner be a pair of students debating the merits of Jamie Oliver s 'grow your own campaign whilst they smear their basil plants with savlon? Or Kimberly and Hayley from Manchester s only hair crimping club ("crimpin ain t easy..."? Or perhaps a pair of death-embracing tandem-riding Bristolian Goths? We meet a whole host of outrageously funny and original characters, all brought vividly to the stage by these two wonderful talents. Bird flu has thus far only affected a handful of people across the world. However, with the very real fear that it may soon mutate into a form that can be easily transmitted between humans, governments across the world are being forced to answer the question: What will they do in the event of an international pandemic? Solemani and Poulet use political satire and sharp social observations to deal with this very real threat.
