The Fifties archiveRebuilding the city after the second world war, we meet the milkman barely making ends meet on his daily round, the butcher who really wants to be a car mechanic and discover the mother trying to find enough beds for her 13 children in a tiny apartment. We also venture out to learn the foxtrot, cha cha cha and rock & roll: for Saturday night is dance night! The show features live accordion music and 1950s songs. Performed in Dutch with English surtitles. Alive and Kicking, an older people's theatre group from Amsterdam, perform an entertaining show based on true stories from their parents' lives in the 1950s.
