The Green of Spring archiveIt tells the story of a young couple that fall in love and are separated when the young man joins the army during World War 1. It's a Romeo and Juliet story, with two families that really don't get along, and their children who really do! Using masks the children have helped to make, alongside real images of the war and local Newbury people, audiences will experience an affecting piece of drama based on local history. The production involves 110 primary school children with every child in Years 5 and 6 from each of six rural primary schools: Enborne, Welford & Wickham, Stockcross, Shefford & Chaddleworth, Inkpen, Shaw cum Donnington, and also two children from The Castle.
