A team of scientists set out to define and pin down the human psyche with their brand new and somewhat temperamental machine that is able, so they say, to answer the human dilemma. Hasn't science always been an attempt to explain the world in which we live, so that we can find for ourselves our own place within it? Unfortunately for these scientists, their subject is a philandering doctor, who is also researching the same subject.
