Philosophy gets a little frantic in this hostage drama. Inspired by the solace Boethius took from his fantasy nurse Philosophy, Angelique, a born-again Philosopher, adopts extraordinary means to bring her ideals to public attention. Together with her accomplice, Hugo, who for his own philosophical solace prefers sex to Socrates, they kidnap a shelf-stacker from a supermarket and threaten to kill him if their demands are not met. In the second short play, Dionysus and Diana, members of that ancient mafia family of gods, find a new kid on the block muscling in on their operation, a rabble-rouser from Judaea.
