On the eve of her marriage, Sita, a young village girl is kidnapped. She manages to escape and befriends Lakshman/Laksmi, an entertainer, earning a living from his performances as a woman. Disguised as a man, Sita discovers the freedom of being a man in a male chauvinistic Indian society. Together these two cross-dressed protagonists travel the fascinating Indian roads and the journey is an exploration of the their growing emotional and physical relationship. But who is the man?
