Irish author, Brendan Kennelly's contemporary adaptation of the Euripides' Greek classic The Women of Troy. One of the most powerful indictments of war ever written, it takes the perspective of the conquered and tells the story of acute suffering. We witness the Women of Troy waiting to hear their fate as they are distributed amongst the victors. With this 20th century adaptation, Theatre Cryptic will present a hard-hitting performance with the powerful Myra MacFadyen in the lead role of Hecuba.
