To celebrate National Poetry Month, The Customs House has pleasure in introducing top-flight performance poet Jim MacCool, who will whisk you away to the ancient kingdom of Dalriada, spanning the Irish Sea in poetry and song. He will give a rendition of The Selkie’s Tale, a magical story of abduction, jealousy and retribution set in the Western Isles. Described as “a thrilling Tale achingly-well told” by the Performance Poetry Society, The Selkie’s Tale won Jim the accolade of Bearing the Laurel Wreath in William Shakespeare’s Birthday Parade in Stratford-on-Avon this year for the third year running.
