A play based on the ancient Punjabi legend 'Rasalu', The Land of The Five Rivers is a journey into a land of snake princesses, scorpions, elephants, and giant demons. Lost in the jungle Rasalu meets a beautiful princess, but unknown to him she has been cursed by dark forces. Their love will kill them both, but one will return from the dead to seek revenge. If the evil that has been released is not silenced, then the five great rivers of the Punjab will run dry and all will turn to dust. Using mesmerising shadow shows, exquisite masks, puppets the size of your finger and puppets ten feet tall, The Land of The Five Rivers takes you into the magical would of Punjabi storytelling, a visual feast of adventure, beauty and tragedy. Performed bi-lingually both in English and Punjabi.
