Experimental works-in-progress. Rough Cuts is the Royal Court’s annual season of work-in-progress, experimental pieces, readings and shorts. Alia Bano’s debut play for the Royal Court, Shades, won her an Evening Standard Award last year and she is our current Writer in Residence. DC Jackson is a former Royal Court Writer in Residence and his play My Romantic History sold-out in Edinbrugh and at the Bush. Brad Birch is a recent graduate from the Royal Court’s Young Writers Programme and this is his Royal Court debut. The Rough Cuts Programme finishes with a new dance piece from Manwe Sauls-Addison exploring the world of celebrity backing dancers. Manwe was choreographer on Wig Out! at the Royal Court in 2008 and has danced and provided choreography for Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gag and Michael Jackson.
