An Evening of Asian Dance - Celebrate Asian Dance through Kathakali and Bharatanatyam : 3 companies specialising in 2 different categories of Asian Dance The Kala Chethena Kathakali Company - Kathkali meaning "Story-Play", uses 4,000 year old sign language called "Mudras" , it embraces dance, drama, music and the visual arts and ritual to create one of the world’s most exotic and powerful forms of theatre. A traditional story told through hand and dance gestures. Sakthi Fine Arts - Invited to perform at the Kenneth More Theatre after a complete 2 day sell out in February 2010, Sakthi Fine Arts specialise in Bharatanatyam their performance will you take you away on a far away journey. Traditional Classical Indian performances with an infusion twist of western style. Not to be Missed. Performances By UEL students - Students studying BA in Urban Practice at the University of East will be performing Kathakali. We welcome UEL students that have been studying over the last 2yrs to facilitate a public performance as part of the Redbridge Dance Festival 2010. Redbridge Dance Week
