Pina Bausch , who died suddenly earlier this year, was arguably one of the greatest choreographers of our time. In 2002 bite brought a variation of her 1978 piece Kontakthof to London - the piece was performed entirely by senior dancers and non-professionals. Eight years later Bausch remounted the piece but this time the performers were teenagers. Bite10 brings both guises of Kontakthof ( Thursday 1 - Sunday 4 April 2010) to the Barbican performed by Bausch’s celebrated company Tanztheater Wuppertal from Germany. Three shows will be performed by seniors and three by teenagers in this rare opportunity to see both pieces side by side.
