At a time of ceramic revolutions, William Hogarth's riotous depictions of high life and low offer us glimpses of the wars between pottery and porcelain, Chelsea and China. Along the way Hogarth's own images are hijacked by ceramic decorators from Europe to Asia. A question and answer session follows the lecture.
