Ally Sloper's Half Holiday

Ally Sloper's Half HolidayT0
Ally Sloper's Half-Holiday was the name of a weekly picture paper which first appeared on May 3rd 1884. From 1884 until the 1920's the cartoon red-nosed social climber who poked fun at the foibles of the English people and their customs was a household name, a national favourite. Chris Harris recreates Ally in a performance which gives us scenes set in Ascot, Henley, Lords and on the battlefield of the empire..a humorous glimpse of the past.
