CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 and there is currently no planned re-opening time though it will not be before 1st June 2020 and is most likely to be September (according to some West End producers). Some shows have been cancelled, or closed early, but many are being rescheduled and we are trying to keep up with the changes - assume that anything posted for April and May is actually postponed or cancelled. Pantomimes are possible but a few venues and shows may not return and larger venues and tours are unlikely to re-appear before 2021 though we have some hope for some panto ....

Strictly Bingo

STRICTLY BINGO! BREAKING THROUGH is the groundbreaking concept of director & actor Suzann McLean. Breaking Through is where fresh, raw, undiscovered talent and ambition are taken, nurtured and showcased to their maximum potential. BREAKING THROUGH - a course of 14 weeks - takes selected actors and puts them in the spotlight on stage in a fully produced play written by top writer Kofi Agyemang (BBC "With All Things On Top" Talawa "Urban Afro Saxons" Oxford University Press "A question of History" "Say My Name" Royal Court Theatre & Muckaflicks) and directed by leading director Suzann McLean (Shift Happens "Catcher In Their Eye", Pilot Theatre "This Child", Hackney Empire "Rebellion".) BREAKING THROUGH’s showcase is where top industry casting directors, artistic directors and agents are invited see the countries best and newest talents showcased by brilliant, current, insightful and inspirational writing and directing. "This is not a game, this is BINGO!" ‘STRICTLY BINGO!’ is BREAKING THROUGH’s first creative offering. It is a story about winning and losing not only in the game of bingo but in friendships, desire, love and life. It is a comedy drama set in the East London ‘Majestic’ Bingo Club. The fifteen characters are divided between the staff and the regular customers who frequent the bingo club. Each character is unique, individual and has their story rooted in the essence of a ‘typical’ bingo goer, with all the emblematic behaviours and traits of those with a deep seated passion and love for the game. The characters are completely diverse in their racial, cultural and generational compositions which lends to the dynamic realism of their personal situations and journeys throughout the story. Set totally in the bingo hall the game serves as an active backdrop to discover each characters individual wants, goals and objectives. With huge cash winnings at stake the drama and tension of the story is kept at a constantly exhilarating pitch reminding us that the next number could turn out to be the life changing number bearing the amazing big money prize win. Thus players are seen along side staff as they respond and react to both their bingo and their personal defeats and triumphs.
