We are an amateur opera society, performing in the Bromley area of London. We aim to put on a show every two years at least, fully staged and costumed, and with full orchestra. Our next show (17-20/10/01 and 2 & 3/11/01) will be Bizet's Carmen, for which we will be auditioning on 20/4/01 (contact Julie Hyland on 020 8467 6632 for further details). We make a point of performing in the style and period in which the opera was originally set. We are always happy to welcome new members. The annual subscription is only £10, and those wishing to perform must also pass a simple audition. However, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in other ways, such as set design and building, costume design and making, publicity, administration, etc., so if you're interested, do contact us.
