Ladybird

Ladybird sets before us three women who have been institutionalised in order to protect society and themselves. The introduction of a new face, Elisabeth, allows them to revisit why they are on the ward. Whilst Elisabeth struggles to separate her past from her future, the other patients confront the realities of life in an asylum. This dramatic, psychological horror weaves the historical development in treatments together with the changes of awareness and understanding. Frying Pan Alley are proud to bring their debut work to the London Horror Festival, inspired by Lisa Appignanesi's book, "Mad, Bad and Sad" and Shakespeare's texts.
