Homage to Magool

Homage to MagoolT01636565107
Two of Somalia's leading singers come together to celebrate the music of their most popular performer, Magool, who died 10 years ago. Headlining is Farxiya Fiska, the first Somali artist to reach one million hits on YouTube, who will go back to the roots of the modern music of her homeland. Called Qaraami, the music mixes Sudanese and Ethiopian melodies and features a solo voice, an oud (a Middle Eastern lute) and epic poetry. Also performing tonight is Birmingham-based singer Nimco Degan.
