Noah, the most prosperous of the religious billionaires has landed on his feet; his fleet of cruise lines are the finest in the world and he's about to launch his latest flagship: The Marshmallow, a glorious vessel complete with the world's first onboard menagerie. In light of global warming and increasing sea levels, Noah has filled his floating zoo with two of every species so that he and his guests can relax and enjoy the wonders of the world's most exotic animals from the comfort of sea-faring luxury, every single animal in fact... well, apart from the Unicorns. Noah can't stand Unicorns. Trapped in a sealed container in an unknown location, six unicorns find themselves without food, without water and with little air. Rejected from an attempted boarding of The Marshmallow they find their surroundings becoming increasingly moist and their future increasingly short.
Acqua Alta invites you on a journey through memory and reality. Inspired by music and told through rhythm, the story unfolds as these beautiful creatures become transfixed on the singular question that surrounds their fate.
