Throughout Celtic mythology, the search for the salmon represents the search for wisdom. In his 1995 settling of Aonghas MacNeacail's poem, William Sweeney reinterprets and reassembles the story of musicians and dancers of Moving Music Theatre. His score marries traditional Scots music and Jazz to powerful effect. In this work in progress, four dancers and musicians form the MMT experiment with staging part of Sweeney's work, removing the conventional barriers preventing musicians from moving the exploring the relationship between dance, song, and instrumental techniques.
