Championed by Gidon Kremer, the Kronos Quartet and Dawn Upshaw and a friend and associate of Magnus Lindberg and Esa-Pekka Salonen, Saariaho's music is haunting and resonant with an atmospheric immediate beauty. Kaija Saariaho's music has the power to draw an audience into a state of almost mystical contemplation. In From the Grammar of Dreams she has chosen a programme of her works including the award-winning Lonh for soprano and electronics, as well as a five-song cycle set to words by Apollianaire, Holderlin, Sylvia Plath and Shakespeare.
