Alex Hassan is the world s leading performer of the virtuoso popular piano styles and glorious melodies of 1920s and '30s popular music. For this concert he and Robert Petillo, tenor soloist with the US Army Chorus, perform Scott Joplin, Gershwin, Kern, Billy Mayerl (for his centenary year), Tin Pan Alley melodies, ragtime, World War I & II songs and rollicking Vitaphone tunes and novelty songs performed in period style.
