On Active Service archiveThis is the true story of the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915/16, seen through the eyes of four men, revealing the emotions of that epic yet futile struggle. Born as a result of the acquisition of a quantity of letters written by Brigadier General Walshe to his wife Hilda during his long army service, the play is a drama/documentary, relating to the story of Walshe and his associates and tracing the events of the terrible struggle against the Turks.
