A comic opera based on the play by Aristophanes. When the world is shaken by a human arrival, flamingoes an pigeons resolve to build their own city in the sky and declare war on the earth beneath and the gods above. The birds become the world's superpower. The Opera Group presents a musical feast of slapstick, fantasy and political satire, featuring the acclaimed vocal ensemble I Fagiolini. As a prelude to the opera, they will also perform three short Renaissance and contemporary works that merge music with the distinctive sound of nightingales thrushes and cuckoos.
