Ensemble 360 was formed in 2005 to take up residency in South Yorkshire succeeding The Lindsays who were retiring as a quartet. The ensemble brings together musicians from across the globe to form one versatile ensemble of eleven musicians; five wind players, a pianist, double bassist and the Elisas String Quartet. Shadow Game is a new piece by Charlotte Bray, one of Britain's most dynamic living composers, commissioned especially for Doncaster. It gives a fresh take on a centuries-old musical tradition ? the ?Sinfonia Concertante', a style muchloved by Mozart and Haydn which allows a group of soloists to combine with an orchestra and dazzle with their collective virtuosity. Charlotte and some of Britain's finest instrumentalists ? all members of Ensemble 360 ? join forces with musicians from across Doncasterfor this World Premiere performance. As well as Shadow Game, a treasure trove of other chamber pieces will lead to an exhilarating evening of music.
