Hello Norma Jeane archiveElderly Essex grandmother LYNNIE has escaped from her old people's home in Stockthorpe-on-Sea and fled 8,000 miles across the Atlantic to Hollywood, Los Angeles. There, she has holed herself up in a run-down motel, awaiting the right moment to reveal to the world her deepest secret - that she is in fact MARILYN MONROE, coming out of hiding fifty years after faking her death in 1962. As her gay grandson JOE turns up to take her home, he finds himself embroiled in his grandmother's scheme, questioning his entire existence and wondering whether he can really be the offspring of Marilyn Monroe. Is Lynnie really Marilyn? Or just a crazy old lady wanting to avoid a fate ensconsed in a nursing home? As time starts running out, Lynnie and Joe's search for the truth, their self-worth, and their love for each other are tested to the limit in this funny drama that is full of surprises.
