Details

The Blind Boys of Alabama have spread the spirit of energy of pure soul gospel music for over 60 years, ever since the first version of the group formed at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind in 1939. Tonight, founding members Clarence Fountain, Jimmy Carter and George Scott are joined by more recent arrivals Joey Williams, Ricky McKinnie, Bobby Butler and Tracy Pierce. The support act comes in the form of the UK debut for Los Fakires from Santa Clara, Cuba. From the same generation as the Blind Boys, they have been ploughing a parallel furrow in Cuba's sweet son music.
