Indie folk/rock from two brothers and a sister. Cattle & Cane are a real family affair, with several members of the prodigious Hammill brood involved - Joe Hammill provides guitar and lead vocals alongside his sister Helen who adds an extra layer of lead vocals and keys. Paul Wilson and Frank Hammill constitute the backline with drums, bass guitar and backing vocals respectively. Comparisons to the likes of Fleet Foxes, Mumford & Sons and Noah & The Whale are predictable, but Cattle & Cane are far from being generic trend-followers - their life-affirming blue-eyed soul is tinged with a pop sensibility which makes them without doubt one of the finest bands around in the North East right now. The embryonic Cattle & Cane formed at the beginning of 2010, quickly amassing a legion of live fans around the North East area. Their local success was compounded by a storming appearance at Scotland's biggest music festival, T In The Park, performing on the BBC Introducing Stage which is nationally renowned as the music industry's forefront of exposing the best emerging music from all four corners of the United Kingdom.
